Ender 3 15mm Solid Bed Mounts
thingiverse
These are 15mm solid bed spring replacements. Most others Ive seen are 20mm tall which looks a little excessive. The cable strain relief piece is compatible with johnniewhiskey's cable chains. Obligatory disclaimer: Solid bed mounts are usually only recommended when also using some form of auto bed leveling. Upon bringing into your slicing software move model to X: 7.264 mm Y: 26.314 mm To exactly center the actual mounts on the bed to help in making them all as close as possible to the same height. I suggest printing with PETG at 100% infill. PLA will probably melt and degrade way too quickly, and ABS has a much higher thermal expansion/compression ratio that could throw your fine tuned leveling out of range. PETG is probably the most stable material available that's also printable with these machines, feel free to prove me wrong though if you're into material science. I installed these placing a silicone o-ring on top, sandwiched between the mount and bed, and then leveling the bed with the standard leveling wheels compressing the silicone o-ring. I used my BLtouch and the bed level visualizer in Octoprint to dial it in PERFECTLY, and once satisfied I used 4 more nuts and torqued them up against the leveling wheels in order to lock them in place. I found that the wheels would loosen themselves absurdly fast with just the normal motion of the bed during a single print. I suspect the O-ring technique may be the culprit but I never tested without them, though after adding the lock-nuts I haven't needed to adjust my bed in over 6 months.
