A tiny spacer boosts pressure on the extruder feed spring. My own spring was almost fully relaxed, failing to apply sufficient force on the filament for the drive motor to get a solid grasp. These spacers are engineered to fit snugly over the small nubs that support the spring, while still keeping it centered by them. Simply scale your z-axis as needed to achieve optimal tensioning results.
