Ender-2 Part cooler 40mm axial fan
thingiverse
A custom cooler designed for Ender-2, -3 CR10 3D printers uses a quiet axial fan. I utilize an old Revoltec Air Guard 40x40x10mm fan with specific specs:\r\n12v\r\n5000rpm\r\n5.20 CFM Air flow without pressure booster is approximately 1.1 CFM, and with pressure booster it reaches around 1.4 CFM. These measurements were taken using a PM6252A anemometer, but the low air flow results in relatively inaccurate readings. There is noticeable resistance for this low-power fan, so I'm sure a thicker 40x40x20mm fan like the Akasa AK-4020MS would perform much better. The fan is mounted vertically, making it compatible with any type of fan bearing. A round 12mm magnet holds it securely in place between the fins and can be easily removed or installed. No modifications are required except for an additional wire from the motherboard (or an external power supply). The motherboard uses JST XH 2.5-2 Pin connectors, which I purchased from eBay at https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/263206353413?ViewItem=&item=263206353413. The fan booster was inspired by thing:2821855 and various online resources. However, without a more sensitive measuring method, I'm unable to optimize it further. If you have a different booster that works better, please let me know. To assemble the cooler, simply drill holes for the fan or secure it with tape around the fan and fan booster.
