End-fly extender pole fittings for Jayco Expanda caravan
thingiverse
Early versions of the Jayco Expanda had a design flaw that included drop-down bed-ends covered by canvas shade flys. These flys were supported by vertical poles, but on concrete pad sites, it's impossible to peg down the middle vertical pole, resulting in it flapping wildly in the wind. To address this issue, a device called "Thing" was designed, which comprises three key components: a captive lock anchor for securing the pin end of a horizontal telescopic extension pole, a standard horizontal extension pole that can be purchased from a camping store, and a ring end adapter for attaching to the middle vertical bed-end fly pole. The angle of the captive lock anchor can be adjusted to match the angle of the caravan ends, which are usually different for the front and back. This adjustment is made by editing the SCAD files.
