End Cap for 2-inch pipe

End Cap for 2-inch pipe

thingiverse

This conical end cap, featuring a central 5mm hole, is designed to fit within a 2-inch schedule 40 PVC pipe (purchasable at Home Depot). Its insertion requires a firm push, but removal proves challenging due to the cap's conical exterior. Fortunately, a provided SCAD file allows for customization. The end cap serves various purposes, such as holding a 5mm optical component centrally within a pipe or forming a nozzle or pivot point. However, note that the Thingiverse preview of the associated STL file may be inaccurate, especially if using OpenSCAD 2014.03. An update has been made to fix this issue and ensure uniformity in conical part thickness. To build, place the cap with its open end at the bottom for a smooth overhanging roof structure, potentially without supports. A 20% infill is suggested, although 10% could suffice. Finally, an update includes a notch for easy removal using a tool.
