End Blade XCB-003-183 is a site extensively tested by A.P. McCartney in 1971. It serves as the definitive type-site for the Izembek Phase. A small village with a distinctive whalebone house and numerous artifacts similar to those found in the Bristol Bay region exists at this site, dating approximately 1200-1350 CE. Western Alaska Peninsula artifacts are showcased as a direct result of comprehensive research conducted under grants NSF 9630072, NSF 9814086, NSF 9996372, NSF 9996415, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner is the Principal Investigator behind this research. These artifacts were meticulously scanned using either a Faro Edge Arm or a Minolta Vivid 9i. Advanced processing in Geomagic or Polyworks was then applied. 2-8 high-quality photos were utilized for texture enhancement in Geomagic Wrap. Original digitizing work was conducted at the Idaho State University's IVL, while subsequent processing and publication were completed at Global Digital Heritage. McCartney's groundbreaking research, published in 1974, provides a comprehensive look at Prehistoric Cultural Integration along the Alaska Peninsula in APUA 16(1):59-84. Additionally, Maschner's study, doi: 10.1353/arc.2011.0007, offers significant insights into Arctic Anthropology, as featured in January 1, 2004 vol. 41 no. 2 98-111.
