Enclosure Mounting Hardware for Replicator 2
thingiverse
I recently bought an acrylic hood and side panels from BilbyCNC in Australia, located at http://www.bilbycnc.com.au/DisplayProd.asp?ProdID=cncRepHood. The hood lacked mounting hardware, so I designed a set of hinges that use the Replicator 2's existing M6 threaded holes on the backside for installation. Additionally, I redesigned my YATH tool holder to serve as a side panel retainer. The hinges work excellently, allowing the hood to stand vertically when open and employing internal plates to minimize stress on the acrylic panels. The extruder upgrade was created in Shark FX/ViaCAD (an sfx file is included) and compatible with Makerware, ReplicatorG, and skeinforge. STEP files are also provided for use in other CAD programs. I printed the parts using a 200 micron profile found at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:39050, with infill at 40%, layer height of 0.2, three shells, feedrate of 80 mm/s, travel feedrate of 150 mm/s, and a print temperature of 230°C. To assemble the hinges, you'll need four M6 x 20mm hex head cap screws, four M5 x 20mm countersunk bolts with Nyloc nuts and washers, and eight M3 x 10mm hex head cap screws with nuts and washers. PDF plans for the side panels are available; however, the hood design might be too intricate.
