Enclosure latch - 2 piece - 90-deg rotation
thingiverse
I crafted this latch specifically to suit my requirements, recognizing it may not accommodate all enclosures seamlessly. However, it has proven itself capable in securing the door on my 3D printer enclosure effectively. My design consists of two snap-together components, providing enough friction to resist unwanted closures while remaining pivots easily with minimal force applied. This latch operates smoothly within a limited range, specifically permitting rotation by 90-degrees, allowing it to be reversed if required for alternative directions. For optimal functionality, it is recommended that the support beneath the retaining ring on the base piece is deleted - removing unnecessary excess from the print model. My experience with Simplyfy3D revealed effortless removal of supports; however, users operating within Makergear M2 systems may find it challenging to detach at this specific location initially. Nonetheless, the presence or absence of supports significantly influences print quality and smoothness in operation. In anticipation of various needs for diverse enclosure lengths, the present design's bracket length can be readily adjusted upon request if needed - a simple procedure when accessed via my Rhino 3D toolset. If any user finds this limitation restrictive and desires customization, please don't hesitate to inquire; such requests will be fulfilled efficiently with my in-house expertise.
