Enclosure for miniSpartan3 FPGA Dev Board
thingiverse
This is a custom enclosure for the Scarab Hardware miniSpartan3 FPGA development board, available at scarabhardware.com/minispartan3. The miniSpartan3 is a highly affordable Xilinx Spartan 3 FPGA board that features an HDMI port, USB, and more. This design serves as a remix of the enclosure created for their larger miniSpartan6+ version. The provided STL files enable users to create two distinct versions of this case: one without a top plate and another with either the Scarab Hardware logo or no logo. Once assembled, users can install their miniSpartan3 FPGA board in this base, keeping it accessible for modification or expansion. Additionally, holes have been strategically placed in the base, making it easy to secure the board with screws if needed. In terms of layout, the case includes openings for HDMI ports and Mini USB connectors, facilitating direct access without obstructions. Accessible windows are also provided for LEDs and a reset switch, as well as small gaps that allow users to manually operate DIP switches. Noteably absent in this design is provision for expansion ports (I/O) commonly used by the Scarab Hardware development boards. While they can still be printed on separately or integrated within an expanded case if necessary, no dedicated space is assigned for their functionality. The specifications outlined below pertain specifically to printing parameters that result in an accurate build of the miniSpartan3 board's enclosure. Print settings recommended include: Rafts: Unnecessary but acceptable. Supports not needed. Resolution: 0.3mm ideal resolution for accurate model depiction and fine details Infill Density: Sufficient at a minimum setting of 10%, although any lower density might weaken structural integrity
