Enclosure for a Nixie Tube Clock
prusaprinters
I managed to find myself with four perfectly good IN-12 Nixie Tubes. I also managed to find myself browsing a certain site full of the most curious wares, when I stumbled on this, a "IN-12 Glow Tube Clock Colorful 4 Digits LED Retro Clock Nursery Home Living Room Bedroom Decoration Nixie Clock". Which, as luck had it, shipped without the four Nixie Tubes required. Serendipity we meet again. So I got it home, stuffed it with tubes, took the tubes back out to put them in the right way up, then powered it on to see the satisfying glow of LEDs and cold cathode numbers. Then it occurred to me how cool it would look with a semi-translucent enclosure. So I made one, complete with built in legs to elevate the face, some holes for venting heat from the electronics section, and handy opening to plug the USB cable into. I even added a little hole on the other side to give a clear path to the IR receiver, but I doubt that was really necessary. There were a LOT of different vendors on that site selling things that looked like this particular unit that I bought so chances are they also might fit this enclosure, but I designed this around the specific one I have. Print instructionsI printed this face down, without supports and it came out pretty well. Print file is sliced for PETG.
