Enclosure filter ass. for 3M filter
thingiverse
This is an assembly designed for a 40 x 40 mm fan that perfectly fits 3M air filters. I created this because I was concerned about filament fumes, particularly with ABS, PETG, and NYLON, which can be hazardous to health. The fan used in this design is a 5-volt model, but you can easily substitute it with any voltage fan that suits your needs. This assembly fits the 3M Multi Gas/Vapour Cartridge/Filter, part number 60926, P100. You can find more information about this product on the 3M Canada website at https://www.3mcanada.ca/3M/en_CA/company-ca/all-3m-products/~/3M-Multi-Gas-Vapour-Cartridge-Filter-60926-P100/?N=5002385+8716715+3293734174&rt=rud. I designed this safety feature for any 3D printer enclosure, including the popular IKEA LACK table enclosure project. You can find more information about this project on Thingiverse at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2864118 and https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2864118. The mask gasket included in this design is made to work seamlessly with the fan, but you can also print your own using flex filament if you prefer. If you need the 3D model for the mask gasket, I'd be happy to provide it to you. To take safety to the next level, you can plug a sum-pump hose into the assembly and exhaust the wasted air through a window. This will help remove hazardous fumes from your workspace even more effectively.
