Enclosure case for STC-1000 thermostat
thingiverse
Work in progress. Will update with diagrams and tutorial afterwards. As I planned to print ABS with my printer that's inside an enclosure, I needed ambient temperature control inside the enclosure. After some research, I chose the STC-1000 thermostat with a 100W radiator that would be on the bottom of the enclosure when it needs to be heated and an extraction fan that would be on top of it when it needs to be cooled. I wanted a clean housing to bolt the thermostat onto the side of my enclosure with a hole leading directly into it. I also needed a window giving direct access to connectors so I can work on wiring while the thermostat is in the case. Since I wasn't satisfied with the existing designs, I made my own. You'll need: - 8x 20mm M3 bolts for the front and back plates (more than 20mm will be okay as the holes go all the way across the case). You can also use 10mm bolts, but they won't be as strong. - 4x M3 or M4 bolts/screws to screw the case onto the wall of the enclosure. The window cover is just plugged in for aesthetic purposes and has two little slots to slide a flat screwdriver or any thin object so you can remove it easily when you need to work on the wires. There are two 15mm holes: one directly on the enclosure's wall that you can drill to route your wires directly inside it (e.g., radiator and/or fan wires), and one under the case (e.g., power supply wires). This design is made to be bolted onto the LEFT side of the enclosure when you're facing it. If you need it on the RIGHT side, I've made the base file symmetrical so you can mirror it. Also, both the front and back plates can be bolted upside down so you can choose whether the visible face is the top or the bottom layer, depending on which looks better.
