Enclosed Print in Place Hinge for 20x20 Extrusions
cults3d
I made this because I'm planning on enclosing my Ender 5 Plus. There are some good options out there but I wanted to make something that was all one piece. Like stated in the title it is print in place. I added a wing on the middle piece to prevent over extension of the door. It screws in to a 20x20 extrusion using m3x15 bolts and t nuts. The holes are oversized so it is possible to squeeze m4s in as well (May need to drill the holes slightly larger). Notes on this: Your printer has to be pretty well tuned to make this work. Use auto generated supports for the overhangs on the sides and between the hinge pieces but not for the holes, Additionally, use supports for the top of the pin where it is at an angle, but not for the bottom part where it is flat or you could fuse the entire part together. I did this with paint on supports in Prusa Slicer and it worked just fine. There is .4mm of supports between each part of the model I didn't Bother trying to remove it myself as there isn't much of a need to. I have attached my gcode files with said supports for the Ender 3 and Ender 5 Plus Printers It is designed to go on the right side of an ender 5 plus with the pin facing up (I mirrored it in the gcode files so it would mount on the left) I printed with PETG so if you are using other filaments the provided gcode may not work for you because of the temperature differences.
