A rotating component equipped with vanes or blades drives turbomachinery, such as centrifugal pumps, forward. The enclosed impeller features both a front and back shroud; the impeller vanes are positioned between the two shrouds. Closed-impellers in radial flow centrifugal pumps come in single inlet or double inlet configurations.
