Base/Enclosure for the [Noctua NH-AAS desk fan](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4911660) by [MajorHardware](https://www.thingiverse.com/MajorHardware). It features power connector, power switch and weights to make it more stable. Bill of materials: * PWM controlled 120mm 12V DC fan (standard computer case fan). Recommended Noctua NF-A12x25 PWM. * Noctua NA-FC1 4-Pin PWM Fan Controller. * Printed helix fan shroud from the original design https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4911660 or the remix https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4912018 (recommended) * Printed base top and bottom from this thing (two parts). * DC-099 5.5mm x 2.1mm DC Power Female Panel Mount Connector (e.g. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CTCZ3RM/) * DC 12V Power Adapter with 5.5mm x 2.1mm barrel connector (e.g. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0998BMQYP/) * Mini Boat Rocker Switch (like this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B094FWYWL5/) * Standard 120mm fan guard (e.g. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01H0P7OC4/) * 16x 0.50inch steel bearing balls (for weighing the base). You could also use 12mm balls, they will be slightly loose but you can pad with pieces of foam or paper. A premium option would be to use tungsten putty instead. * 1x M3x40mm SHCS * 4x M3x35mm SHCS * 4x M3x20mm SHCS * 4x M3 washer * 9x M3 hex nut * 4-pin fan extension cable (only the male connector with wires is needed) Some assembly notes: * The Noctua fan controller has weird shape and it's difficult to mount securely. There is a cutout for it in the base top and a "pedestal" underneath it in the base bottom. The fit is tight enough that I just used some double sided sticky tape to fix it to the bottom and it doesn't move. * For connecting the power to the Noctua fan controller I used a fan extension cable. The male connector goes to the controller input, the female connector is cut off. The ground wire goes directly to the power socket and the +12V wire goes to the socket via the rocker switch. Polarity at the socket depends on your DC adapter but most often the inner contact is +12V and outer is ground. The PWM and RPM signal wires are not used on the input side of the controller. * When mounting the power socket do not use the spring washer that comes with it. It won't fit and it's not needed.
