A limestone relief depicts Emperor Xiaowen leading his entourage in a stately procession. The artwork originally stood at the entrance to Central Binyang Cave, one of China's largest Buddhist rock-cut caves commissioned by the Northern Wei dynasty near Luoyang. It was part of a pair of royal procession steles, with the empress's procession displayed at the Nelson-Atkins Museum. Dated from 522 to 523, the relief measures 82 inches in height and 12 feet 11 inches in width.
