In my coin collection, I found a Roman Imperial silver coin and scanned it using a Roland Active Piezo Sensor 3D scanner. After some digital enhancements, I decided to create a larger replica by printing it four times the size on a black ABS material via a Roland MDX-540S-ATC CNC mill. However, since the model only consists of two opposing shells scannable with a contact force poky-type scanner, some modifications are required prior to 3D printing. Despite this, I believe the final outcome will be worth the effort.
