Emergency Stop Button
thingiverse
On occasions, a state of panic has ensued. Retrospectively, an Emergency Stop Button should have been installed earlier. Now it's in place, providing a convenient object to hit when things go awry. The button is made in black to discreetly fit under the Makerbot shelf and comes with provisions for securing mains wiring. It sits in the middle of the Makerbot's power cable, enabling immediate shutdown if necessary. To install it, print all three parts, add a 22mm EMS button, disconnect the mains lead, cut it in half, thread it through the back plate, reconnect Earth and Neutral wires, solder Live wire across the switch's normally closed terminals, screw everything together with M3 screws, and attach it to the shelf. Don't forget to test by whacking it!
