Emergency Money / Cash Key Chain
thingiverse
Greetings, These design adjustments draw from prior ideas, see the remix list for sources. The modifications made were done to suit my personal preferences. The breaking layer is 3 lines thick (3 lines x 0.4 mm), and the rest of the key chain is 5-6 lines thick. This thickness seems sufficient for PLA filament. Ensure that you rotate the model 90 degrees, as the default orientation is incorrect. For the "Open" model, the hole at the bottom is large enough to insert a tightly rolled bank note. The internal diameter is slightly larger, preventing the cash from being removed or falling out. The "Sealed" model requires inserting the bank note during printing. In my experience, this window occurs between 86% and 89% completion. A small groove marks the last layers before the print closes the key chain. To access its contents, you must break the key chain after it has completed printing. This key chain is designed for U.S. bank notes or dollars, which are approximately 65mm wide. Larger bank notes could be used with an appropriate print scale adjustment. The FreeCAD files are included if you wish to modify them in that software.
