Cycling smoothly on the road, a sudden car door opening poses a risk. With no time to stop due to bike momentum, you face three tough choices: swerving into traffic, crashing onto the ground, or hitting the open door. Painful consequences loom. My emergency brake design alters this scenario. Similar to bicycle phone chargers, it can be powered by a spring or other mechanics. Pulling the secondary brake lever activates the emergency brake wheel spinning counter to the bike wheel, decelerating faster than usual. Spoke stress is trade-off for injury prevention. When not in use, the emergency brake wheel spins freely with the bike wheel.
