EMC2 Compound Planetary Gearbox (Size A) This gearbox comes in two configurations: single and dual. The dual configuration boasts greater torque and mechanical stability, but at the cost of reduced speed - it moves at half the pace of its single counterpart. The single configuration is specifically designed for Z-axis joints. The EMC2 Compound Planetary Gearbox (Size A) is an ideal fit for robot arms, particularly those built around the Sylvie 2021 humanoid robot design. This open-source 3D printable gearbox features a gear ratio of 53.6 and requires the planet gears to be arranged in a clockwise numerical order, forming a circular pattern. Failure to follow this arrangement may result in the 48 ring gear not fitting properly. The STL files for this gearbox can be found on GitHub at https://github.com/TwinLizzie/Sylvie-2021. This platform is where updates are always first posted. It's worth noting that some of my newer models feature inverted normals, a byproduct of struggling to grasp the boolean modifier in Blender 2.81. Despite this, these designs still print well and can be used with most slicers. However, they may generate warnings during the printing process. To rectify this issue, I plan to update each model individually, correcting the normals and re-uploading them to the platform once completed. This is a time-consuming task that will require dedication, but it's essential for ensuring these designs meet the required standards. For now, I've put a hold on making any further changes to these designs until my bipedal robot legs project is complete.
