As part of our quarantine protocol here at ZIRC, we developed a way to isolate eggs and quickly dip them into various solutions like bleach. These small baskets are designed to keep eggs and any hatched fry contained while allowing whatever solution you set them in to penetrate. There are two versions: one with mesh included and another with mesh overprint. For the mesh included version (recommended), you might need to adjust your printer settings slightly to get the holes just right, but it's easy to print multiple copies once you get it dialed in. For the overprint version, you place plastic mesh on your printer bed and print the cylinder over it, hopefully securing it firmly. This one can be tricky to print reliably because the nylon allows the part to wobble too much, which may cause it not to stick to the plastic. Other types of plastic might work better. Update: I've added a 2-tone version where the mesh is printed in dark while the walls are light. This could make it easier to see embryos or eggs against the mesh. This version is also slightly thicker to help the two materials bond better.
