Embroidery hoop, square, parametric (e.g. for lettering)
thingiverse
This is an adaptable embroidery hoop tailored specifically to suit the needs of your sewing machine. The design involves attaching this hoop to an X/Y stage, which expertly moves the hoop under the needle of a sewing machine. Commercial alternatives are available, but spending more than £100 is unnecessary when you can print it for significantly less. The roundness of the hoop can be adjusted by modifying the roundedCornerRadius. All variables in my opinion are clearly documented within the code. 22 May 2016: Version 1.1 was uploaded to address a problem with slightly oversized overall dimensions caused by rounded corners. A watermark was also added. 19 June 2016: Version 1.3 featuring thicker hoops was uploaded. Print Settings Printer: MiniCNCPrinterCutter Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 15 Notes: I recommend adjusting the thickness of the hoops to a multiple of your extrusion width for optimal results. I print this one in PETG for durability, and there's no reason why ABS and PLA shouldn't yield equally impressive results.
