Embroidery Floss Bobbin Winder

Embroidery Floss Bobbin Winder

I designed this tool to help me wind embroidery floss to the standard bobbins for better, more organized storage. It has a G clamp at its base to clamp it to the edge of a table, workbench or similar surface to hold it in place. In order to assemble this tool you will need one 607-2RS bearing (Inner Diameter = 7 mm, Outer Diameter = 19 mm, Thickness = 6 mm).In addition to that you will need one M3 20 mm bolt, and a washer to connect the bobbin holder and handle. If you do not have the bolt and washer, you can print the no bolt variant of the bobbin holder and handle (filename ending with _nobolt.stl). The nobolt variant is designed to push fit together, however I strongly recommend making the version with the bolt for a more secure fit.The bobbin I use with this tool can be found herePrint Settings Printer Brand:CrealityPrinter: Ender 3 ProRafts:NoSupports: NoInfill:20% Notes:Print the parts in the orientation they are in the STL files. No supports needed! Post-PrintingScrew the knurled knob into its hole at the base for the clamp.Snap-on the clamp protector onto the knurled knob.Push the bearing into its hole. You might have to press it in really hard. Once the bearing is in partially you can tap it with a hammer to get it to sit flush. If you are assembling the version with the bolt and washer:Screw and then unscrew the bolt into the handle to create the threading. Remember to screw into the hole on the non-protruding side.Do the same with the bobbin holder, but only going in about 5mm.Finally, push the protruding side of the handle into center hole of the bearing from the right side. Place the washer, and then the bobbin holder against the center of the bearing from the left side. Then screw in the bolt from the right side; through the handle into the bobbing holder. Turn the handle to ensure it is turning smoothly.OR If you are assembling the nobolt version:Align the "male" part of the handle with the hole in the bobbin holder. Then firmly press while twisting to join the handle and the bobbin holder. Then, twist in the opposite direction to remove. Now, do the same thing but this time through the center hole of the bearing. With the handle on the right side and the bobbin holder on the left sidePlease refer to the images of the final tool to confirm you have assembled everything correctly. Feel free to post any questions you might have in the comments.
