Ember Mug Lid Replacement (Doesn't Close)

Ember Mug Lid Replacement (Doesn't Close)

In January, I purchased an Ember mug from Amazon Mexico, and as a coffee enthusiast, I was extremely excited about it. Unfortunately, my enthusiasm was short-lived when I visited a local coffee shop in Mexico, where I reside, and the barista overfilled the mug beyond its recommended capacity, then closed the lid. When I attempted to open the mug by pushing the lid, the high pressure caused the coffee to explode violently out of the mug. Upon closer inspection, I realized that my mug's lid had broken due to the excessive pressure. The ordeal was frustrating as I struggled to find a replacement for the damaged lid in Mexico, only to discover that Ember does not officially sell its mugs in this country. Several months later, my sister traveled to the US and purchased an Ember mug on my behalf after I instructed her to buy one at a hotel. Meanwhile, my original mug remained unusable due to the unavailability of a suitable replacement lid. After receiving my new replacement, I thought it would be beneficial to create a 3D design that would prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future, or at least provide an alternative solution for those with access to a 3D printer. I hope this information proves useful to others. Please note that the current design is incomplete, and I am still searching for a way to replace the open-close mechanism. Specifically, acquiring a food-grade metal spring is proving to be challenging, so I am exploring other options for sealing the mug.
