Embedded Magnet Filament Indicator Prusa Mk3
thingiverse
I got fed up with attaching magnets to my filament indicators so I decided to take a different route. This spinner features an interior space for embedding an 8x3mm magnet (I utilized these). Insert a pause command just before the layer that covers the opening and drop your magnet in, then continue printing. If you have a Prusa Mk3 you need to insert an M600 command at the correct place in the file to trigger a filament change. You'll have to do a quick unload/load of filament and then you're good to go. Once you've printed it with the magnet inside, take another 8x3 magnet and attach it to the embedded one, then take the assembly and clip it into the extruder motor. It works incredibly well and if you do it this way, you can swap out spinners at will.
