The experiment involved embedding an NFC tag into a 3D print using this model as a test: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:58195. I sourced the NFC tags from http://www.rapidnfc.com. The STL file is unmodified from the original, and more details can be found on my blog at http://tomvandenbon.co.za/blog/?p=33. To achieve this, the process was to (1) start printing, (2) pause a few layers in, (3) place the NFC tag, (4) resume printing, and then (5) profit!
