eMAKER Huxley Remixed Bowden Extruder for use with E3D V6
thingiverse
Comments This extruder part was modified to accommodate the official E3D V6 Lite Bowden extruder 1.75 fitting. The modification was necessary because the original eMAKER Huxley only allowed a 2.2mm PTFE tube, whereas E3D ships with a 4.2mm tube. We acquired the hardware from Home Depot in the Pipe Fitting section, where we found the Part number LFA-708, a 1/8FIP brass Cap. We drilled out the center to push the PTFE tube all the way to the hobbled bolt for better alignment and increased support for flexible filament. To ensure proper installation, you will need to drill out the part on the brass fitting side to match the hobbled bolt. We used an 11/64 standard size bit (approximately 4.31mm). If possible, use a drill press to guarantee a straight hole. You may also need to file down the stepper motor bracket slightly. We reduced the holes by about 2 mm to prevent gear binding. If you hear a strange clicking sound, it's likely due to the stepper motor skipping because of excessive lateral torque on the driveshaft. In this case, catastrophic failure will occur unless you correct the issue immediately. We highly recommend printing our x-axis mounting bracket (still under development) for a complete solution to the eMAKER Huxley E3D Upgrade.
