Human: A Part of the Monument to the Girondins, Located in the Eastern Section of the Fountain\nThe monument to the Girondins (54m high), located at Bordeaux, Place des Quinconces, was erected between 1894 and 1902 in memory of the Girondin deputies who were victims of the Terror. The people of Bordeaux commonly call it "the Column of the Girondins" or "the Monument to the Girondins".\nIt has been classified as a historical monument since March 16, 2011, after being registered on July 8, 2004, with the classification having been approved by the city council of Bordeaux on October 25, 2010.\nThe project titled Gloria victis ("Glory to the Conquered," in Latin), presented by sculptor Achille Dumilâtre and architect Deverin, was selected after being reviewed by Dumilâtre and architect Victor Rich.
