Elven Longsword TES IV Oblivion

The Elven Longsword
Stop right there, scoundrel! Yet another Elder Scrolls prop. I present to you the majestic Elven Longsword. The mesh was crafted by Bethesda Studios in the early days of the 21st century and extracted by me from the Oblivion.bsa file located within the original game directory. As with all my game props, I utilize genuine game mesh. The low-poly mesh is presented in its pure form, the very thing you've been wielding in-game. I merely cut it into seven parts using Meshmixer. The blade is remarkably large (1000mm) yet close to scale, resulting in a relatively manageable printing time due to minimal infill.
Printing Instructions:
1. Print the blade components (1, 2, 3, and 4). I employed 0% infill, three walls, and 0.2 resolution. 2. Print the part connecting the blade to the guard (5). For this step, I used 10% infill and 0.2 resolution. 3. Print the Guard (6). I utilized supports (>40% overhang), three walls, 10% infill, and 0.2mm resolution. 4. Print the leaf-shaped pommel. I employed supports (>40% overhang), two walls, 0% infill, and 0.2mm resolution.
Assembly Instructions (IMPORTANT):
I conducted thorough research on bonding two PLA parts together and what makes for a strong joint. CA glue was considered, but it failed to withstand the stress the joints endured. Therefore, I fused the entire sword together using heat! 1. Heat a steel plate to approximately 200C and lightly brush each joining half onto the metal plate, which will be enough to melt without deforming the plastic. Quickly join the two pieces together, resulting in a bond as strong as if printed as one. 2. (optional): Prime the model and paint it according to your preference or the added original texture. 3. Post that, make with your skills or pay the price! Now you should rest and reflect on what you've learned. Check my profile for more Elder Scrolls props.
