She is the strong-willed older sister of Princess Anna, and the fearless ruler of Arendelle. Her extraordinary powers over ice and snow propel her to become the legendary Snow Queen. Idina Menzel brings Elsa to life with her powerful voice. The character was inspired by the title figure from Hans Christian Andersen's classic fairy tale "The Snow Queen", but Elsa's personality is a far cry from her literary counterpart, who was neutral and somewhat villainous.
