Els Vilars flooded
sketchfab
The 2800-year-old Ilergetian fortress stands as an exceptional historical and archaeological complex in southern Europe, a true marvel of its time. Strategically built around a pit filled with water for defensive purposes, the fortress was designed to withstand even the most determined attacks. But nature has other plans. Heavy rains this week have brought the site to its knees, leaving it completely flooded. The once-proud fortress now lies submerged in water, its grandeur and majesty forgotten in the face of torrential downpours. As I navigated the photogrammetry process, I encountered numerous problems with reflections from the water. To overcome these challenges, I had to get creative - 'flattening' polygons and closing holes became my best friends as I worked tirelessly to bring the site back to life in 3D.
