The Trammel of Archimedes, or Elliptical Trammel, is a device that constructs ellipses. It features two parallel-moving shuttles and a rod connected by pivots at set points along the rod's length. As the shuttles traverse their respective channels perpendicularly, the end of the rod traces an elliptical path.
