Elliptical Path

Initially designed using Autodesk Inventor 2014, this project features animations and renderings created with the Inventor Studio module. It demonstrates Cardano's principle, as previously seen in my Cork press project. The two toothed wheels have pitch circle diameters in a 1:2 ratio, causing a point on a diameter of the small wheel to trace an ellipse relative to the large wheel. After a full rotation, the Ellipse Indicator moves from 12mm to 19mm reported to the center of the small wheel, and the new ellipse path changes. The dimensions of the resulting ellipses are 84x36mm and 98x22mm. To recreate this project in Inventor, download all files to a single directory, open the .iam file with Inventor 2014 or later versions, and access Environments/Inventor Studio to modify settings for custom animations.
