Elliptic Paraboloid
thingiverse
A quadratic surface that has an elliptical cross section is known as a paraboloid. A paraboloid cut by a plane produces two intersecting sections: vertical intersections are all parabolas, while horizontal intersections are elliptical. The parabola is a conic section formed when a cone is sliced by a plane parallel to one of its generators. An ellipse is a conic section that belongs to the closed curve category and has an oval shape.
