This ancient carved portable rock is from an excavation site and was originally housed within the collections of the Museum of Antiquities in Newcastle, now known as Great North Museum: Hancock. It's referenced 'Ellingham D' on the Beckensall Archive (BA) and NADRAP added its record to ERA in 2008, describing it thusly: "A single large cup and three or four smaller finger-tip sized cups are present on the same surface. The main cup measures 0.04 m by 0.04 m and is approximately 0.015 - 0.02 m deep. A very shallow groove is visible next to the cup, deepening at its edge. The small cups are difficult to discern. There may have been more before the stone was weathered." ERA & BA information can be found at https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/era/section/panel/overview.jsf?eraId=1853. The model was created from imagery captured by Dave Tuck, David Jones, Caroline and Kenneth Allott (NADRAP Team 2) in May 2006. These images formed part of the NADRAP archive deposited with Historic England and Northumberland County Council.
