Elk's Vertex

Elk's Vertex

thingiverse

Introducing a lightweight frame vertex for Mendel/Prusa Mendel, this design consumes less material than its solid counterpart. As other attempts at vertexes exist, this is an additional option. A version with feet and one without are available. For a Mendel/Prusa Mendel build, six vertexes are necessary; print two without feet and four with feet. Please remember that this design caters to M8 rod usage. After the first print, it was found that the vertex without feet weighs 12 grams when printed in ABS with 4 shells, 0.35mm nozzle, and relatively coarse infill. The filament length needed for one of these is approximately 1650mm of 3mm feedstock. Upon the second print, the version with feet was executed using the same materials and infill settings, weighing 11 grams. They feel robust but have not yet been tested in a frame assembly to confirm if two thin shells are sufficient. Once assembled, follow instructions for completing your Mendel build. Your feedback is appreciated!
