Elite Dangerous Logo
thingiverse
My attempt at reimagining the Elite Dangerous logo, slightly modified for 3D printing's unique capabilities. The design is suitable as a headphone cable wrap or can be showcased as a display piece. I've included my wireframe in .dxf format to simplify any modifications you'd like to make to enhance it further. Adding "ELITE" to the bottom panel might create an appealing visual effect, and you could also consider incorporating your pilot's name. If you're feeling adventurous, printing two of these designs and attaching them together with a string or fishing line between the helmets will result in a charming 2-sided mobile. Print Settings: Printer Brand: SeeMeCNC Printer: Rostock MAX Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 7% Notes: Please ensure your retraction settings are adequate to prevent strings from forming at the top and tip of the design, but these can be easily removed. The bed adhesion was satisfactory even without heating, though I had some leftover purple glue stick on the printing surface. I printed this model at 200C with fans engaged from the start, using PLA. For ABS prints, it's essential to heat the bed to at least 75C. After printing five of these models in ABS, three experienced detachment issues due to poor bed adhesion. If you're working with ABS, refer to the blue "I Made One" project for additional tips and guidance.
