<p>Who's got two thumbs and an Elfa Utility Board? I guess that's me.</p> <p>I really like the board, it's cool to have the peg board option and the ability to use magnets. However, since Elfa didn't ask me what I thought would be necessary in terms of accessories, I had to whip out the old 3D model confabulator and make up some of my own. Namely, I needed some ways to mount the maximum density of smaller tools up there so I could learn whether those wall anchors I found in the random fastener bin were up to the job.</p> <p>So here's the list of what I've uploaded:</p> <ol><li><b>Hanging Tool Module</b>: This is designed to hold up to nine smaller hand tools. There are five 17mm holes that are good for small flush cutters and pliers, then two sets each of 9mm and 12mm holes for smaller tools.</li> <li><b>Round Cup</b>: This 50mm by 90mm cup is pretty small, but intended for things like paintbrushes, spudgers, and other smaller diameter tools.</li><li><b>Panel Mount</b>: This thing is actually very specific to a small Wera tool pouch I have that has a Velcro attachment on the back. I'm going to stick the self-adhesive side of the velcro to this and hang the whole thing on the board. I put it here because maybe you have something you want to stick to the board, but still want it removable. The cutouts in the design are intended to conserve filament. I also included a version without the cutouts if you prefer that look.</li> <li><b>Shelf Mounting Extension</b>: These are designed to space the peg board mounts away from existing, vertical, hanging rails. If you know you're going to want a utility panel when hanging the vertical rails I highly recommend spacing them appropriately to begin with, otherwise, these raise the mounting point so the board be mounted over them. Be sure to use the appropriate anchors.</li></ol><h3>Print instructions</h3><p>All of these were printed in clear PETG because, reasons. Supports are necessary in general, but usually only for the peg board hooks on the back.</p> <p>Be careful with the hooks on the back of these, they're sufficient to hold things to the board, but due to the nature of the material they're not as strong as an injection molded piece. If there's concerns, ABS may actually be a better material choice.</p> <p>I actually had issues with them getting knocked off the print before completion on the hanging tool module, but a quick check of the Z-level adjustment corrected that.</p>
