I created a script to automatically generate OpenSCAD source code from elevation data. Here's an example of what it can do. The featured image shown here is Taiwan, generated from data that spans a latitude range of 21.75 to 25.500 and a longitude range of 119.900 to 122.100. If you want to create your own, check out the elevation2scad repository on GitHub for instructions.
