Elephant Humerus
sketchfab
The humerus of a massive Asian elephant, Elephas maximus, underwent scanning using the powerful Rapiscan-RTT110 X-Ray luggage scanner at the Henry Mosely X Ray Facility. A CT scan was expertly processed with Stradwin software, utilizing medium smoothing techniques. The Rapiscan-RTT110 can efficiently scan hundreds of objects per hour, making it an ideal tool for various applications. This test scan aimed to evaluate the capabilities of the scanner when dealing with large animal bones; no correction for slice artefacts was applied in this instance. The elephant bone used in this experiment was generously provided by the Anatomy department at the University of Manchester.
