The 2.5D Elephant is part of the Three Layered Animal (tla) Family. Built from Beech Plywood, it's robust enough to withstand rough handling by kids. The Birch Plywood-version boasts a lifelike side-view and prominent grain that adults will admire. When scaling up or down, refer to the width of a foot as your guide. This project was completed on a Desktop CNC Machine by Stepcraft using 6mm Birch Plywood with a 1.2mm Flute Spiral-Toothed Bit. After machining, it required some light sanding and simple assembly. A Laser Cutter could be an ideal tool to create even smaller versions of the Elephant. You might also consider building an aluminum version by screwing the parts together to create a compact key fob.
