The "Elemental Design Team" is proud to present an optimized GE jet engine bracket design with a 72% mass reduction while maintaining performance under four loading conditions. The team, comprised of college friends, created over 20 models before settling on this final design which features strategically placed notches for stress redistribution near interfaces 2 and 5. The model's accuracy is attributed to a fine mesh simulation using SolidWorks. Boundary conditions include fixed interfaces with "infinitely stiff" bolts, except for interface 1, and arrested bolt head surface contact areas in the vertical direction for interfaces 2-5. A detailed report, including a 3D model in STEP format, is available for download at the provided link, highlighting the importance of notches and brief simulation results.
