The "Elemental Design Team," composed of four mechanical engineers, are currently competing to create the best design. All members graduated from the same college and work together now. They have achieved a 77.6% mass reduction, resulting in a design weighing only 1.057 lbs (480 grams). The maximum von Mises stress is 116.1 ksi. Under loading conditions 1 through 4, the stress levels are 116.1 ksi, 113.2 ksi, 91.4 ksi, and 105.6 ksi, respectively. The design's mass is more than the Factor of Safety 1.5 at 0.08 inch fine mesh. Further details can be found in their final update. This entry seeks suggestions and feedback.
