The Elemental Design team presents the initial design for review. The model was simulated using a 0.08-inch fine mesh in SolidWorks, providing accurate results. Notches were incorporated near interfaces 2 and 5 to reduce stress concentration. Except for interface 1, all other interfaces are considered fixed, referencing "infinitely stiff" bolts. The existing hole diameter combination is recommended to remain as per the original model. Increasing the depth of holes or interfaces 2-5 may improve results. Mass reduction is 71%, with a reduced mass of 1.31 lb using a 0.08-inch mesh element size. Loading conditions and minimum volume under 1.5 FOS are also provided.
