A High-Clearance Centre Skid for the Element RC Enduro: Design and Installation Guide This custom centre skid offers approximately 8mm extra clearance, while minimizing the increase in centre of gravity to just 4-5mm above stock levels due to the recessed gearbox design. All mounting holes are integrated into the skid, requiring only threading. I highly recommend using stainless steel hardware to avoid stripping the material during threading. Once threaded, you can then reuse the original black hardware. To mount the lower links, simply wind the stock grub screws through the mounting hole until secure, taking care to align the screw with your Allen driver first and marking the correct depth on the driver shaft. Then, bolt everything up as usual. You will likely need to install three sideways angled rod ends (as shown in the photo) to raise the top links slightly, due to the raised lower link position caused by articulation and clearance adjustments. Additionally, you may need to lengthen the lower links slightly to compensate for the new mounting position. To secure the gearbox, four M3 x 12mm countersunk screws will be required. I printed this centre skid using PLA with a 0.2 layer height and support material, arranging it on the print bed with the gearbox recesses facing downwards.
