Elegoo Saturn 3 Ultra Drip Jig
thingiverse
This is a drip jig for the Elegoo Saturn 3 Ultra. It’s basically a remix of other drip jigs for so many of the other resin printers. Not sure who came up with the original ideal for this type of design, but kudos to whoever it was. I wanted a jig that would stay in place so I could use one hand to move the build plate and the other hand to hold something under the build plate as I did to catch drips. I’ve seen post about other drip jig where people are concerned about the build plate falling from the jig mount. I tried to make this in a way that it can be used without the locking knob but included a locking knob as an extra bit of safety. When first printed the build plate should be a little tight on the jig mount, but after pushing it on and off a few times it should ware in, fit snug and be easy to take off. If its still to tight a little sanding on the two small ramp on either side of the hole where the locking nut is should take care of it. I used two 3m x 10mm screws and nuts in the clamp. The locking knob uses a m12 x 35mm bolt with a corresponding 12m nut in the jig. The bolt and nut both should have a friction fit so the knob will stay up out of the way of the build plate as its put on; same as how the locking knob works on the original mount. There is a cap that can be put on the locking knob to cover the bolt head, its not necessary but if used it needs four screws. I used #10 x ½ inch flat head screws; #8 X ½ inch or m4 x 12mm should work as well. I used a filament printer to print this jig; it seems the right tool for the job, but I’m sure your resin printer can do the job as well. I printed the jig with 25% infill but I upped the infill to 50% for the knob and I printed the wall line count at 4 on all parts. The extra line and infill give the screws a little more to bite into and helps keep area around the screws from twisting and breaking while putting them in. Also by having the wall count at 4 the wall is printed solid so the printer isn’t having to jerk back and forth so much to put infill between two walls that are close together. The jig will need to be remove to level the print bed but can stay in place the rest of the time.
