Elegoo Saturn 2 + 3 ultra Riser

It has arrived! If you needed a riser for an Elegoo Saturn 2 this project has you covered. It included a step file of the dimensions of the cover rim, step and stl files of a 25mm tall riser, and a link to the project where you can modify it for free using OnShape! Users have reported compatibility with the Saturn 3 ultra in the comments as well! You might be wondering, why? Personally, I wanted to be able to route some power and sensors into the cover, but didn't want to deal with the hassle of needing to unplug/replug cables feeding them through the ventilation cut out. I also do not want to make a permanent modification to my cover such as creating new notches or holes. I didn't want to just let the cover rest on the cables either. My printer is in the garage and didn't want bugs to crawl in the vat or sunlight to peak in through the crack. The riser will let me create some notches for the cables with out encumbering removal of the cover. But beyond what I am using it for, every one can now make their own mods. Here is an example mod: Ink Bird temperature sensor mount with probe and fermentation belt slots for cords. The riser sample is designed to be printed in the orientations they are uploaded, though before committing to the whole project I have included a small test print section. Pieces are meant to print in the uploaded orientation with zero supports.By printing these pieces you can see if you'll need to add a brim or make other modifications to your setup in order to print the whole thing successfully. These test pieces also showcase the support free tab system that can hold to project together without glue or bolts. If you do end up printing this riser using a resin printer, I would recommend adding some flexible resin into mix of standard resin. Alternatively printing the ‘smooth tab’ variants and using superglue to keep things together. Here is a video on how tightly the riser fits on the Saturn 2 with out any kind of anchoring hardware. There is a method for anchoring the riser to the base, these triangular bolt holders. I recommend trying them unglued to the riser and it should be good enough, but if it is coming loose for some reason go ahead and put in a few drops of super glue. You will need slightly longer m3 bolts than they ones that already exist; m3 16mm work, possibly m3 14mm. I recommend removing and fastening one bolt at a time, rather than all at once because there is a chance that something inside the saturn 2's base might be held up using the bolts. If anyone knows for sure please leave a comment. There are 3 sizes of bolt holders, here is which ones are needed for each bolt. The OnShape file is parametric, its a bit fragile.you can adjust the overall height, turn on and off the lock tabs, and remove the bolt holder holes. What “#TabLocks” do: To remove the bolt holder holes you have to drag the rollback bar to the “#startBoltHoles” section. Here is a gif of how to do that below. I really hope this is helpful, I know that a lot of people were a bit deterred from making a riser because of the 2 front angled bits. Updates:11/18/22 - Working though suggestions from a discussion from reddit. The OnShape has a new branch with a triangular keytab and a few more parametric options. Added the STLs to an experimental section in the downloads.11/12/22 - added stl and step files for a single piece version.
