I just replaced the old cap on one of my bottles after it came with a cracked one, so I decided to swap it out for a new one right away. The threads worked perfectly on the first try. I also created a mold for a gasket that you can simply fill with standard bathroom silicone and let it sit overnight. This way, you'll be able to ensure a totally sealed cap if you need to shake the bottle before pouring into the vat.
