Elegoo Mars Vat Stand
thingiverse
This is a simple stand to hold the Elegoo Mars 2 Pro vat tank safely when it is not placed on the machine. Particularly useful if you are cleaning the vat but don’t want to put it back on the printer yet or if you don’t want to clean it on the machine. It’s recommended that you don’t place it bottom-down to avoid scratching the FEP. This stand holds the vat only from the edges and it never touches the FEP. There’s no need to hold the tank awkwardly in one hand or risk it slipping. The corner is notched out for the pour spout corner to reduce the mess. NOTE: It should fit other vat tanks that are the same dimensions (other generations of Mars?). The inner opening is about 180mm x 123mm (179.8mm x 122.9mm). NOTE #2: this is not a vat drain as it does not angle your vat for pouring or emptying. This is primarily for temporary placement to rest the tank or while you’re cleaning, without damaging the FEP. This is also not a storage solution for the tank; if you plan on storing the tank on this stand, I recommend printing a small lid to cover the top to prevent dust. The sample in the photos was printed on a Creality CR-10 V3 in PLA. But it should fit the Ender machines as well. I included a “slim” version for those that are using a machine that can’t use the wider flanges. FDM Printing Recommendations: Being a functional part, I suggest thicker layer height (0.25 to 0.3mm if you’re using a 0.4mm nozzle, respectively for other nozzle sizes). 3 perimeter walls (or about 1.4 to 1.5mm perimeter) should be a good start (depends on your nozzle size). Because of the vat tank’s weight, I recommend a grid or rectilinear infill, perhaps 15-25%. Minimum of 4+ top layers for strength and smoother top finish. No rafts needed, no supports needed.
